Still playing catchup on photo posting.... here's some pics of our visit to Hampton Court Palace on Sunday 26th August - a nice day it was too.
We couldn't decide whether to go inside and tour the Palace or visit the Country Fair that was on across the road, with rides and stalls. We decided to take the Fair option - bad move. 6 quid per person to get in, then you had to pay top dollar (or is it top pound) for everything once inside. Not to worry, you live and learn.

The Palace in detail - note the 16th century scaffolding in the background
Another addition to our collection of fancy gate photographs
Lucy and Mum entering the super slide at the Fair
Lucy and Mum coming down the super slide at the Fair - you need to look closely!
At the Fair - Caiti really got into the Maypole dancing
At the Fair - this bird kept attacking Jo, so they had to put its blinkers on
At the Fair - how city kids learn to milk cows!
Nice pubs on the Thames at Hampton Court

The Slow Train to Guildford
OK... we're getting a bit behind here, but here's some snaps of our day trip to Guildford with Nanny and Pa on Sat. 25th August.
We travelled by train, as we were too many for our good ol' Ford Mondeo, but it was a nice day for a train ride as you will notice. Guildford is only a couple of stops from West Byfleet, but on a busy Saturday morning you have to change at Woking. If you don't get from Platform 3 to Platform 5 in quick time, it can be a slow trip.
Here's the gang at Guildford Castle. Note the flower bed announcing "Guildford in Bloom".
The girls at the Castle gardens... still blooming nicely.
The castle remains.
View from the Castle. Apparently the author of Alice in Wonderland (Louis Carroll - from memory) lived in the house you can see below. There are several Alice statues scattered around the town.
Caitlin in Wonderland.
Pa, Mum and Nanny on the bridge over the River Wey in Guildford.
Our South West Trains model.
Waiting for the train at West Byfleet.

Lucy's started school
With parents and parents-in-law visiting in recent weeks we haven't had much of a chance to update the blog, and news has filtered through that the natives are restless. Well, let's get the most popular request out of the way to start with - photos of Lucy in her school uniform.
Here you go... we have both summer and winter uniform on display:
