Scotland - Edinburgh

We went up to Scotland for Winter half-term (i.e. the one week break schools get in the middle of each term). Considering it was mid-February, the weather was quite mild, although cloudy in the main, and we managed to get out and about and take lots of photos.

In fact, we took so many photos we didn't want to post them all in the one blog posting, so for today, please enjoy our pics taken in Edinburgh.

This is the street we stayed in; Carlton Terrace - very grand.

View down Carlton Terrace.

That was our place behind the blue door.

The Royal Mile.

Lucy's photos are improving.

Edinburgh Castle - looking up.

Inside Edinburgh Castle.

Lucy and William Wallace.

Another Lucy photo - not a bad attempt.

Field Marshall Haig and his horse.

The girls at Calton Hill, from where you can look down over most of Edinburgh, or look up at the Greek monuments.
Did we mention it was windy?

Looking out over Edinburgh from Holyrood Park.

Here we are halfway up Arthur's Seat, which is a very high, craggy hill, from where you can out over the entire city (apparently). Sadly we have to admit that we didn't make it to the top, as we were almost blown away by the wind.
