Long Boats on the Basingstoke Canal

The Basingstoke Canal runs by quite near our house so one sunny Saturday morning we decided to wander over and take a look. Well our timing was pretty good because there just happened to be a long boat using the lock to head upstream (towards Basingstoke).

Now if you happened to have a long boat and didn't want to go to Basingstoke, you could pretty much see most of England with the network of canals that criss-cross the country. It would be slow going, although arguably quicker than the M25 at peak hour.

We're back!

Keezee installed the broadband about 30 seconds ago, and the first order of business is obviously a blog update...

Well, we're still here and still having fun between occasional bouts of stressed parenting and lonely foreigner syndrome. The new digs are alright - we could go into details of outstanding maintenance issues but we'll spare you the drama. We have a nice garden and lovely neighbours (on one side at least), so its not too bad at all.

Enough of that I hear you say, where are the pics...

Leaving Richmond for our new house. Oh what a feeling!

The garden (commonly known as a backyard)

The place came with a couple of gardners... we were a bit worried about their credentials.

But at 4 quid an hour, you can't say no.
